Returns and right of withdrawal

This page explains how to return an order and what to do if an item has a defect.

You have 30 days to return

You can withdraw from your purchase within 30 calendar days, without giving any reason. The law requires 14 days. We give you 30. If you live in Spain or mainland Portugal, returns are free.

The period starts on the day you receive the order, either you or the person you named (other than the carrier). If the order arrives in several parcels, it starts on the day you receive the last one.

Sale items and items bought with a discount code have the same right.

How to return

  • Email us at newportvela@gmail.com and tell us you want to return your order. Include your order number and the items you are returning.
  • You can use the withdrawal form at the end of this page, but you don't have to. Any other clear statement also works, by email or by letter to our registered address.
  • It is enough to send us your message before the period ends.
  • From Spain or mainland Portugal, returns are free: we will send you a prepaid return shipping label, with instructions, and we pay for the return shipping.
  • From any other country, you pay for the return shipping. You can choose the carrier. We recommend a tracked service, so you can prove that you have sent it back.
  • Send the parcel to this address: Camiño de Mide 58, Oia, 36390 Vigo (Pontevedra), Spain. You must send it no later than 14 calendar days after telling us that you are withdrawing.

Condition of the item

You can try the garment on as you would in a shop, to check the size, the fabric and how it fits. We ask you to return it with its tags and, if you can, in its original packaging.

If the garment shows more use than needed to check it (for example, it has been washed, has stains or odours, or you have cut off the tags), we may deduct from the refund the loss of value this causes.

Refund

We refund everything you paid, including the original delivery costs (also if you live outside Spain), without undue delay and no later than 14 calendar days after you tell us that you are withdrawing.

If you chose a delivery option more expensive than the cheapest standard delivery we offer, we do not refund that difference.

We may wait until we receive the item before refunding you, or until you send us proof that you have returned it, if that happens first.

The refund is made using the same payment method you used, unless we expressly agree with you on another one, and it costs you nothing. The part you paid with a gift card goes back to that gift card. If the order had a discount, we refund the amount you actually paid.

Your bank may take a few days to show the refund in your account.

Changing size or colour

If you want another size or colour, the fastest way is to return the item and place a new order.

Defective, damaged or wrong items

This is not a withdrawal. It is your legal guarantee, and it does not depend on the 30 days. If an item arrives defective or damaged, is not the one you ordered, or a defect appears later, email us at newportvela@gmail.com with your order number and, if you can, a photo.

We are liable for any lack of conformity that exists at the time of delivery and becomes apparent within 3 years of delivery. If it appears within the first 2 years, it is presumed to have existed at delivery, unless proven otherwise.

You can choose between repair or replacement of the item, unless one of the two options is impossible or disproportionate. If neither is possible, or we don't do it within a reasonable time, you can ask for a price reduction or, if the defect is not minor, your money back. All of this is free of charge for you, including shipping costs.

Gift cards

If you buy a gift card and have not used it, you can withdraw from the purchase within 14 calendar days of receiving it. Email us at newportvela@gmail.com and we will refund what you paid.

Items without a right of withdrawal

By law, products made to your specifications or clearly personalised for you cannot be returned under the right of withdrawal. The NewPortVela logo on our garments does not make them personalised, so you can return them without any problem. If a product is made to your specifications (for example, with your name), we will say so on its product page before you buy it.
